Option A — Delete from inside the app (recommended)
- Open the XpeZ app on your phone and sign in to the account you want to delete.
- Tap the Profile tab at the bottom right.
- Tap Settings → Delete Account.
- Read the confirmation screen. It lists exactly what will be removed and what is retained for legal reasons.
- Enter your password to confirm and tap Delete my account.
Deletion begins immediately. You will be signed out on all devices and your account can no longer be used to sign in.
Option B — Request deletion by email
If you have lost access to the app (uninstalled, phone lost, or locked out of your account), email us and we will process the deletion manually:
Subject: Delete my XpeZ account
Include: the email address on the account, and a brief statement that you are the account owner requesting deletion.
We verify ownership before deleting. Once verified, deletion is completed within 7 business days and a confirmation email is sent.
What data is deleted immediately
- Your account (email, password hash, profile)
- All transactions, accounts, categories, and notes
- All budgets and savings goals
- All AI chat threads and messages
- Push notification tokens (Firebase Cloud Messaging)
- Streaks, achievements, and in-app engagement data
- Uploaded avatar / profile image
What is retained (and for how long)
- Anonymised crash logs and diagnostic events collected via Firebase — stripped of user identifiers, retained up to 90 days for reliability engineering.
- Aggregate usage metrics (feature counts, daily active users, etc.) — never linked back to your identity, retained indefinitely.
- Records required by law such as tax and financial audit trails — retained for the minimum period required by applicable Indian and international law, typically up to 7 years.
- Support correspondence (if you contacted our support) — retained up to 2 years to help us improve the product.
None of the retained data can be used to identify you personally or reconstruct your financial history.
Timing and finality
Personal and financial data is removed from the primary database immediately. Encrypted database backups are rotated on a rolling 30-day window — any residual data in backups expires automatically within that period and cannot be restored to a live account.
